For sale: a rare, one of a kind, 5.5 x 14" Yamaha Steve Gadd Artist Series Signature hammered aluminum snare drum. This is one of six prototypes made in 1993 specifically for Steve. This particular drum is #6 of 6 (indicated on the badge). Includes a Humes and Berg "Enduro" road case, new Remo batter and resonant drum heads and new 20-strand snare wires. Own a superior-sounding snare drum and a piece of drumming history!

Steve Gadd Prototype #6. Built in 1993.
This drum was one of the new prototypes built, and played by Steve when they were still putting his signature series snare together. In the end, they made three models, a nickel over brass, a steel, and a maple. But this prototype along with the others were never made again...making those, all one of a kind. This is the only hand hammered aluminum snare known to be built for Steve. When he didn't need them anymore, he donated them to his old alma mater, and were acquired by a few drum students that were attending Steve's old school in Rochester, NY.
Condition: Excellent. Kept in an indoor recording studio, in a smoke-free environment.
