WEYMANN ORCHESTRA TENOR BANJO STYLE NO. 4 DELUXE VINTAGE 1922 BEAUTIFULThe Banjo was made around 1922, by the H A Weymann and Son, Inc. located then at Tenth and Filbert Streets in Philadelphia, Pa. Weymann was a builder of instruments since 1864.
The Banjo is a Weymann Orchestra Tenor Banjo Style No. 4 Deluxe, Gold Plated with a 23 inch scale 19 frets RIM of Maple . Inlaid with pearl. Notched hoop hand engraved. Twenty brackets. All Metal parts gold plated 11" head.
Neck, two pieces, of maple, reinforced with black and white stripes through center of neck and colored veneers between neck and fingerboard. Heel capped with ebony and colored veneers: hand carved at base of neck.
FINGERBOARD of ebony, elaborately inlaid with pearl vine of life . With gold dots on fingerboard. Headpiece capped with ebony and colored veneers inlaid with pearl.
RESONATOR of maple multi bound. Slip on fit.
Megaphonic Tone Amplifying Rim, constructed of ten layers of laminated wood. Tapered to give a megaphonic effect. Since all brackets are incased and countersunk, the outer surface of the rim is perfectly smooth.
Tuning Pegs are Four -to -one. Countersunk in the headpiece of the banjo. It includes a black chipboard case.
