The Flea Jazz Bass powers Flea’s individualistic style, providing the punch and growl that fuels his funk- and punk-inspired bass playing. Handcrafted in our Ensenada, Mexico facility, this Signature Series bass is a precise recreation of his instrument, which was painstakingly studied, measured and replicated down to the finest detail by our expert luthiers.   In Flea’s own words, “ The greatest bass I’ve ever played is this ’61 Fender Jazz Bass. It’s just a magic bass. The weight of it, the way it feels in my hands, the way it plays. When I hold it, it just feels like...Ahhhhhh.”  A pair of vintage-style, American-made Pure Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups provides classic, original-era Fender tone with clear articulation, robust low end definition, up-front midrange punch and singing high end. The vintage-accurate stacked concentric controls shape the pickups’ volume and tone, as well as allowing the pickups to be blended in any ratio.
