A ROTARY VALVE CONCERT FLUGEL HORN IN B FLAT. This instrument and case are in perfect as new condition. The instrument was hand made and was bought in Bavaria, Germany. A very responsive instrument to play. It is a VMI/B.S instrument manufacturer concert Flugelhorn Model 17/2. Serial number 326710. Along with the motif on the bell it also says VMI MANUFAKTUR 17/2. It has rotary cylinder valves.Completely brass coloured lacquer.It has a 160mm bell and an 11mm bore. Two mouthpieces are included also a card holder (lyre) ,all as new. Investigation shows that at present in Germany a new Model 17/2 WITHOUT a case costs approx. 1290 Euros(£1050.00), and a second hand Model 17/2 with carrying bag costs 750.00 Euros (£600.00). Figures approximate. THESE FIGURES WERE ACCURATE IN MAY 16 PRIOR TO THE CURRENCY CHANGES GENERATED BY THE EXIT FROM THE E.U. This outfit is in superb condition, absolutely as new.
