For sale is a highly customized and modified Ibanez SR506 6 string bass. The bass came with this blue color when I bought it from a Guitar Center in California. It's hard to tell from the pictures but the color scheme goes from darker on the left to lighter on the right both on the headstock and the body. Very beautiful! The name of the color on the listing was "Electron Blue Metallic." I stripped all hardware and electronics and replaced it with a black Hipshot brass bridge and black Hipshot Ultralite tuners. I also added Dunlop strap locks. I installed Bartolini MK6CBC dual-coil pickups and the latest version single-module Bartolini NTMB 9v 3-band preamp. I also installed 3-way parallel/neck single coil/series switches for each pickup.The sound is beautiful! It has a beautiful Ken Smith-type of tone when panning slightly towards the bridge pickup and both pickups set to either series or parallel. The bass also sounds like a jazz bass when both pickups are blended in the middle and set to single-coil. Therefore, the versatility of this bass is just phenomenal as you get AT LEAST two basses in one!Pickup Switches: down position is 'parallel'; center position is 'neck single-coil'; and up position is 'series'.The bass is in overall great condition. The neck is straight and the bass plays great! I've never had to touch the two truss rods. It just has a small chip on the top-back of the headstock (it came to me this way). The bass ships in a hardshell case. The bass is currently strung with D'Addario strings but I will also include the used set of DR Black Beauties strings you see in the pictures.
