Description
Exact Year: 1906 Brand: Gibson

Here's your chance to own the pinnacle of early gibson mandolins. A 1906 F2 (possibly an F4 given the flamed maple back and neck, which were only used on the F4 models in the early days, but doesn't have the double flower pot on the headstock). This is a three point mandolin with amazing volume, tone, and warmth. A banjo killer for sure. This is a players mandolin, not a collectors mandolin. Has two very nicely repaired cracks on the face, shown in the photos. 100% stable. I've been gigging with this for years with no trouble at all. Very low action and true intonation. Otherwise has the normal condition issues you'd expect with a 110 year old instrument. A few nicks and scratches, some finish crazing on the headstock, but structurally it's completely solid and ready to play. All original except for replaced tuners and end pin A rare bird that only sounds like a 100 year old Gibson does. Comes with a very nice 1960's rectangle case. Please email worth any additional questions at all. Thanks
