Gorgeous vintage Nunes ukulele, made of Hawaiian Koa wood. Lots of figure in the wood, it's just beautiful to look at. The signature headstock shape and Leonardo Nunes label are there as well. The rope binding around the soundhole is an upgrade from the base model and a lovely design feature. Unlike most of these old Hawaiian ukuleles, this one doesn't have any cracks. The label shows it was made for Kohler & Chase in San Francisco, and at some point a previous owner put his San Francisco address label on the back! Very cool and I've chosen to leave that on there. The original wooden tuning pegs were not in great shape so they have been replaced with friction tuners that work better. What remains of the original pegs will be included with the ukulele. Comes with the original canvas case which is missing the handle and the belt that goes around the end, but it's been with the uke for almost a hundred years.
