This is a pre red label Yamaha fg-180 green or 'white' label..
It sounds gorgeous with that great, woody, full and loud sound these are known for.. The neck has been reset and refretted and a new maple bridge plate has been added, and a bone saddle.. The action is 5/64th's at the 12th fret. All work on this guitar was done by Gates Guitar Repair in San Francisco.. This one has a nice mahogany neck block as is characteristic of the earlier fg-180's. Has large mop inlays and 'reinforced neck' on the truss rod cover. Also has the typical wear from a well played guitar.. Nicks and dings but nothing out of the ordinary.. The serial number begins with 5 and was literally hand written with a K stamp below it.. Very early fg-180. This 50 year old guitar plays like a dream and still has many years ahead of it. Enjoy! Cheers!
