This is my Evette and Schaeffer by Buffet (Malarne in Paris) Bb wood clarinet , purchased in 1955. No problems , air tight after 10 years of playing, then 35 years of storage, then refurbished (pads top joint, leather pads bottom joints) for my son, who played it for another 5 years. Tight grain grenadilla wood, no dings, chips ect. Instrument has had the best of care and Maintenance. Buffet R-13s are not better than this! There is such tiny flatness in the throat tones that just playing softer and lipping will bring them into perfect tune. But in a band situation, a more advanced student will probably appreciate having a shorter barrel.
This is as good as many professional model Buffet R-13s, although I know not all Evette-Schaeffers are this good.Comes in original Buffet leather case. Clarinet has performed for years in all settings,from first chair in county orchestra to High school marching band, and needs to be played again. The new owner will not be disappointed.
