Serial No. N3461, this clarinet - BT (or, Balanced Tone) series was produced in Paris, France in 1948. My father was the original owner and played 1st chair with the Lubbock Symphony for three years during college at Texas Tech, and in his later years, played in various jazz clubs around the Houston TX area with it. The red mouthpiece was custom for his exclusive jazz persona, and is included along with the original (black). Almost certainly, the pads will need to be examined, and perhaps some replaced, as it has not been serviced since 1986. Otherwise, it is a perfect concert choice - for tone, especially.
