This is a pre red label Yamaha fg-180 'white' label..
It sounds gorgeous with that great, woody, full and loud sound these are known for.. The neck has been reset and refretted and a new maple bridge plate has been added, and a bone nut and saddle.. The action is perfect at 5/64th's at the 12th fret. plays all the way up and down with total ease.. All the work on this guitar was professionally done by Gates Guitar Repair in San Francisco.. This one has a mahogany neck block as is characteristic of the earlier fg-180's. Has large mop inlays and 'reinforced neck' on the truss rod cover. Also has the typical wear from a well played guitar.. There's a disconnected input jack at the bottom bout and usual wear, nicks and minor dings.. but nothing out of the ordinary.. The serial number begins with 5 and was literally hand written with a K stamp below it.. A very early fg-180. This 50 year old guitar plays like a dream and has a whole new lifetime ahead of it. Enjoy!
