1990 GIBSON USA FIREBIRD V, 1ST YEAR OF REISSUE, HUMBUCKERS, OHSC, BANJO TUNERS Super, super clean Gibson Firebird. From what I'm told, 1990 was the first year that Gibson USA started reissuing them. It's common knowledge that the 90s were *great* years for Gibson USA guitars. This one is no exception. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and it just has a resonance to it that the newer Gibson guitars just don't have. Old Wood = good tone.
Beautiful vintage sunburst finish, with phenomenal wood grain. Original pots, caps, and vintage style BANJO tuners! (These banjo tuners are straight-up impossible to get anymore. The tooling was destroyed in the Nashville flood) What's really cool with these early 90's Birds is that originally they have the vintage correct ABR1 bridge. This one has instead of the ABR-1, comes with a more modern, stable Nashville one. Works well with this guitar and the pickups.
The guitar is in phenomenal shape for it's age. A few very very tiny surface mark here and there on the top, but overall, this guitar was extremely well taken care of. I don't think it saw much gig time at all. Frets seem like they're barely worn, and are big and tall, tons of meat left. This guitar was
Original Gibson "California Girl" tan and pink case is in excellent condition, and has the early 90's style "blanket" shroud, instead of the pink satin. Case is clean and all hinges and latches function perfectly.
The only modifications that's been done to this guitar, are the pickups. Unlike the canned description above, the mini humbuckers have been removed for Gibson humbuckers from the 90's. The original knobs were black and were replaced with period-correct 60's style gold bell knobs. This Gibson USA Firebird V Electric Guitar is being sold as used and comes to you in close to excellent condition. There are no major dings, marks or issues with this instrument with the exception of one surface ding on the top of the guitar. There are other very small surface marks from normal use but none break the surface of the finish and are too small to photo. There has been no neck/headstock break with this guitar. Generally, it's a very clean guitar and it looks incredible. The neck is true and plays nice. You will receive this item well packed in its original case but without the original paperwork, packaging, and case candy. Please contact this seller for additional information.
