Martin D12-20This guitar was built in 1968. It shows its age with some dings scrapes and wear.The top finish shows some cracking. There is a hairline crack on the back that is ~3" and has been repaired. The bridge has been worked on and I'm not sure if the bridge is original. Bridge plate is in good condition. It has been lovingly played by one owner from whom I bought it. He was a smoker so the guitar was grimmy when I got it. I had to do a good deal of cleaning of the instrument but once I got the dirt off she shines again. Comes with original case but I would suggest a new one as his smoke lingers.
This is a slope shouldered 12 fret to the body guitar. The top is Sitka Spruce with Mahogany back and sides. The neck is solid Mahogany and no adjustable truss rod. I replaced the original black pickguard as it was lifting and replaced it with a tortoise pickguard. There is one tuning key (high G) that is slightly bent but functions perfectly. The width at the nut is 1 7/8"
This guitar has a broad woody sound that one expects from a 48 year old Martin. The intonation is very good and when played with picks it can be really loud. Has nice jangle and rumble. The shorter scale length allows for a bigger body and that really adds to the bass end.
