Used - Good Condition Martin ukuleles are some of the most sought after ukuleles around. There are many avid collectors of Martin ukuleles around and people who refuse to play anything but Martins. This Model 1 Tenor is sure to not be in our shop for very long. According to our research and the specs, this Martin was made some time in the '50s. The top, back, and sides show a considerable amount of checking/humidity cracks, but the bridge is firmly attached to the soundboard and the neck is straight. This Martin's mahogany top, back, sides, and neck make for an incredibly beautiful appearance. And if that's not enough, the sound you're going to get out of it is immaculate! Make this vintage Martin uke a part of your collection today! Cosmetic and Functionality DescriptionBody: the top, back, and sides show a considerable amount of checking/humidity cracks in the lacquer; there appears to be a crack in the back of the body (picture #15); the top back and sides also show some easily noticeable scuff marks, scratches, and scrapes through the finish and into the wood as well as a few chips in the finish--all in all, not a bad looking uke for approaching 60 years old!
Neck, Headstock, and Fretboard: the fretboard looks almost flawless; the neck has some small nicks and dings in the wood, however they are virtually unnoticeable to the touch while playing!; a few small chips in the wood can be found around the edges of the headstock, plus the front, back, and sides show some noticeable scratches and scuff marks
Action and Playability: the action is about medium and the neck is straight, plus the bridge is firmly attached to the soundboard
Frets: virtually no signs of wear
Hardware: very subtle corrosion can be seen on the tuners and the plastic buttons have a few scratches and nicks in them, but function flawlessly
