This is one fabulous vintage Yamaha. If you like loud, keep reading. Made in 1978 as a top-of-the-line acoustic with quality features including:Quarter sawn solid spruce AAA topOne piece mahogany neckGorgeous Indian Rosewood three piece backRosewood sidesRe-contoured neck for better comfort (compared to earlier FGs)Re-contoured heel for easier access to higher fretsNickel-silver fret alloyDual transverse bracing15:1 excellent chrome tunersBeautiful patina on binding of body, neck and head stockHead stock with inlay YAMAHAInternal finish to minimize moisture absorptionBrand new D'Addario acoustic light stringsGood action with 5/32 low E sting height at 12th fretBone nut and saddleSaddle has plenty of height for lower action if desiredPick guard is the rare quasi-transparent tortoise lookBrand new deluxe plush hard shell case.
This beauty is all original. Yamaha ads of the day touted this family as made from the "World's Best Woods". After 40 years that is very believable as it sounds, projects and sustains better than every vintage Yamaha I've played (and I still own about 15 of them). Its only blem is a repaired small split area on the edge of the lower top bout. You can see and feel it but it will not get worse and it definitely does not affect sound or play-ability.Thank you for looking.
