Solid construction, superior craftsmanship, amazing neck, just a stunning work of rock n roll art! Husk was built around 2007-08 by Aaron Henderson of Findlay, Ohio (luthier of the fine and coveted Lowel guitar line) and finished by a private luthier/owner in Cincinnati. It is a mahogany body with a maple top and finished in clear nitrocellulose lacquer with a bit of amber tint. The mindfully wired electronics are copper sheilded with 3 Gibson humbuckers, 3 volume pots (2 push/pull coil select), and 1 tone pot, for a HUGE array of possibilities. The fingerboard and headstock facing are ebony and the Lowel logo is mother-of-pearl. All the hardware is gold plated with a standard Gibson-esque bridge and Grover keys. The only cosmetic wear to the guitar worth noting are the varnish cracks by the input. Pricing handmade guitars can be tough, so I'll offer my story... On vacation Summer 2014 in Hillsboro, Ohio.and spotted this lovely in a pawn shop, but had my doubts about it because of all the frills. I usually like simple, but I was specifically in the market for a unique, 3-pickup Gibson-like guitar, that wasn't a Gibson, and this more than fit the bill! The amazing neck and variety of strong tones sold me immediately, as well as the relative light weight. But the $1800 asking price was, ya know, more than I had on me ;) so I left, only to return an hour later with a $900 offer, on a lark. We settled somewhere in between, but I'd have easily paid more. When I find one this good I find a way to afford it! I've played a few shows with it, had fun at rehearsal, recorded, and have grown to like it the more I've played it. But... I just rebuilt my very first guitar and realized I was trying to mimic IT in the Lowel purchase. Now the Lowel sits droopy eyed and dusty, which is a shame. This guitar should be enjoyed!
