My personal tribute to that unforgetable celebration at Woodstock in 69. „It is simply the most exciting tele on this planet.“ Atleast,thats what most customers say after visiting my studio. Road-worn or artificially aged guitars are nearing the end of their fad and acceptance - musicians and collectors are looking for something „real and beautiful“ realizing that a relic is nothing more than a new factory guitar made to look old by the use of some simple tricks. They still sound like factory instruments. I, on the other hand, have set out to not only build the most beautiful tele type guitars on the planet but also give each guitar a voice or tone of its own, reminiscent of some of the finest old vintage Telecasters. OK, just check out this tone test: Each guitar is approached as a work of art capturing the elegance of some of the most beautiful and costly materials and putting them all together so that they „ring like a bell“ and play as smooth as silk: Great vintage tone, sustain and sought-after playability! At the same time, these are players meant to be played a lifetime- and played hard. I spend a lot of time matching neck to body and then complementing it all with the „right“ pickup combination that adds to the sought-after sound. „Back to the Garden“ specs Genuine Green New Zealand Paua Abalone – the King of the Abalones – stained green 1. old and resonant two piece swampash body, 50´s shape and thickness, weight – 1,8 kg 2. Grade AAA Canadian maple neck,Rosewood fretboard, vintage C profile, quatersawn, flamed maple, deep honey tint. Stunning deep flames or stripes, bone nut and locking tuners. 3. Seymour Duncan „5/2“ pickups for a thick dry twang. Alnico 5 for the bass strings and alnico 2 for the high strings.Used by Brent Mason and the best Seymour makes. Great balance, brighter twangier bass tone a meatier highs. 4.Classic bridge with compensated saddles and string through body, handfitted to give stronger downward pressure and more sustain and response. 5.Classic 50´s wiring for more resonse and dynamic useful tone. The precious Green Paua Abalone Shell that I used for the top is very rare. – I spend hours matching and working in this fantastic material. I fitted it diagonally to add to the effect of tension and motion. I then stained a tiny bit of green and added a deep-green 3 tone burst. It literally glows in the dark – an exploding rainbow everytime you turn it and change the angle or light. Those flames and colors simply captivate the eyes.This material is also very hard and adds a bit of snap and more sustain to the tone. All Pearlvibes are completely unique and one of a kind; from the handbuilt abalone top,painstakingly pieced together to the vintage-specs resonant light body– handpainted with airbrush. All are lacquered with a very thin combination of nitro and then polyurethane. I then spray a deep green gold 4 tone burst. Nitro and polyurethane lacquered and sanded paper thin, stained and painted with Airbrush to achieve a deep blue burst. Hand painted body using airbrush and extensive layers of intertwining shapes and colors to achieve that amazing depth.Rainbow on the top and waves on the back and sides. Very very tasty. Body – two piece old swampash, 1,8 Kg – very resonant – bright sounding. 50´s shape and size Neck– Canadian Grade AAAA flamed maple with exceptional and amazing stripes or flames on all sides, rosewood skunkstripe, Rosewood fingerboard.2 way trussrod, vintage C shape, very tasty deep honey tint, medium jumbo frets dressed comfortably on the sides. Feels nice. The neck sounds snappy and middy and fits well to the body tone. Bridge – traditional 3 compensated saddle, reworked and hand-fitted to achieve greater downward pressure and better sustain. Tuners – Wilkinson locking type,. Pickups - Seymour Duncan „5/2“ bridge and neck – alnico 5 for the bass strings give a brighter twangier bass while alnico 2 for the high strings gives a sweet dry tele twang. Dynamic with a rich attack and nicely balanced. Brent Mason uses them. Elektronics – all from behind - CTS pots, orange drops and very clever Les Paul 3 way switch – faster and surer than that cheap tele switch(sorry Leo) – pearl plate control cover on back. I always use 50´s wiring – simply better response and more dynamic. The tone is more direct and ballsy. You lose less highs when turning back the volume. Classic tweed Case included.
