This is a special offering from Seta Guitar Bodies. It's a USA-made Gibson Les Paul, finished to look like distressed pieces of copper riveted together. No metal is used in the finish except the "rivets," which are aluminum and obviously have no effect on the tone. It is an amazing player with killer action and unbelievable tone thanks to the Suhr pickups. Best cleans I've ever heard on a Les Paul. This was personal gigging guitar for two years, so it does have a few bumps and bruises. Nothing major or offensive; just a real player's guitar. I have tried to show everything in the pics.
This guitar is a 100% American Gibson Les Paul:• mahogany body / maple top
• mahogany 50s style neck
• ebony fretboard
• 7 lbs 12 oz (light!)Significant upgrades:• Suhr Thornbucker pickups
• Grover 406C locking tuners
• Stainless steel fretsThis guitar started life as a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Studio Gothic Limited Edition (not one of the typical Gibson Gothics that you see a lot of, with the 12th fret inlay). This was a Gibson "Guitar of the Week" and produced in a very limited quantity. The top was sanded down to bare wood, and the copper effect is the result of many hours of a multi-step process I have perfected over the years. The finish is very rich and dimensional. It truly looks like metal that has been exposed to the elements and has corroded over time. You can get lost in the detail of this finish. Even close up, it looks like real metal. The pickups have been upgraded to Suhr Thornbuckers (Pete Thorn's signature model). These are my favorite pickups of all time. They are a PAF-style pickup, and because they are relatively low output, they have an amazing clean tone, and of course will do even the heaviest tones, but with more clarity and definition. They really are incredibly clear and open. Side-by-side, these blow Gibson pickups away. You'll notice the guitar has only one knob. It's a master volume. This is my personal preference, as I never use the other knobs on a Les Paul. This is the "Van Halen" approach to guitar electronics. Taking the tone controls out really does open up the sound of the pickups considerably. So what happened to the holes where the other three pots were? They were filled and sanded perfectly flush. However, you can see the filled holes from inside the control cavity. If you decide you want to add extra controls, you could simply re-drill those holes and add the additional pots. Personally, I love the clean aesthetic of just one knob, and this guitar sounds so big and full, I doubt you will want to change anything! The guitar was re-fretted with medium stainless steel frets. They will last longer than you and they also give the neck a very smooth feel when playing. This guitar comes with a brown Gibson case. The case has a few discoloration marks on it, but is 100% functional. Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask any questions.
