Hello everybody ! Listed here for auction is my 1972 GIBSON LES PAUL DELUXE. This guitar is better than money in the bank! It is a nice player grade guitar with all original pickups and electronics. Frets have been replaced, and it has a set of strap locks fitted, which is a good thing and helps prevent the dreaded Gibson headstock break. Apart from that it has all original parts. Buy this guitar on my website sonicboomvintageguitars for a massive £200 discount ! This guitar has a superfaded finish, originally it was cherry red all over, you can still see this under the scratchguard and in the cavities. This extreme level of fade occurs when strong sunlight eats up the red dyes used by both Gibson and Fender in the 1960s. Modern dyes are much more durable. The back of this guitar is now a disgusting tobacco brown. The whole guitar appears to have had a spray over of clear nitro at some time. This has helped to stop any further flaking off finish as seen on the front of the guitar. Don’t let the ugly finish put you off! This guitar sounds FANTASTIC and plays really well on the fast low frets. This guitar is 44 years old, not modern rubbish ! No neck cracks, neckmends or repairs to the wood. Untouched solder joints. Pots date 11th week of 1972. Comes with the newer Gibson hardcase seen in the pics, has 1 busted latch but closes securely and is otherwise in great condition. Serial number is hard to read clearly. 629242 and MADE IN USA stamp beneath Email me with any questions, I'm never too busy to talk about guitars.
