Up for sale here is my 1971 Gibson ES-345 - stereo with varitone - in a really high quality case!I bought this guitar from a New York guitarist who had owned it from new and who had had it converted it to a stop tail - the original trapeze tailpiece is in the case.It has a thinnish neck - not as thin as my old 1972 walnut 345 - so it's really comfortable to play on - especially if, like me, you're more used to Strats and Teles. The action is really low, doesn't buzz and the guitar plays like butter and sounds awesome - it has the best neck pickup that I have ever heard on a 345 (this is my third - though I doubt that it'll be my last) and is simply superb. It's in pretty much immaculate condition, with only a few marks in the lacquer on the back of the neck (see pictures) that you don't feel when you're playing it and that could easily be made to disappear with a few drops of lacquer and a bit of elbow grease... there's bound to be a few other minor marks here and there, but they don't show up on the photographs... There are no cracks, breaks or any other significant damageThis is a player's guitar - collectors are going to moan at the stop tail conversion and the changed machineheads but, if you're a player, this is a really great-sounding, easy-playing Gibson ES-345 that you're going to love as much as I do.... The stop tail really does make a major difference - I've tried this guitar with the original trapeze and it is so much better (to my ears) with the stop tail. Why am I selling it? ... Well, I've got seriously into jazz and I've just bought a new Collings Eastside Jazz LC and something has got to go to help pay for it ... and that something is this 345.If you want an in-hand description or just want to have a chat about the guitar - please feel free to call me on 07831 112433I'll ship it - with full insurance (5% of final price) which will be extra on top of the quoted carriage charge, I'll happily work out delivering it myself to the lucky winner and I'll be even more delighted if its new owner comes round to pick it up personally....Happy bidding and the very best of luck!
