First off this is not a kit guitar or a bunch of hype over a modified copy.
This took time and thought. I build guitars.
This was my first "trick wiring" experience to get as much tone
and variations of tone as possible.
Sort of looks like a couple other well known brands
and sneaks in between those two.
Thinner than a Les Paul, we kept the dish top pretty thick
so it has clarity and punch through the mix.
Anybody who has played this has raved about it.
Neck is chunky but plays fast.
Fret board is rosewood and has a 9.5 to 10 compound radius.
Jimmy Page wiring per Seymour Duncan with Bourn's pots .
All 4 pots are push pull.Neck pickup is 8.3K Bridge is 16K .
The bridge pickup gets nice and thick distortion but does not get mushy
Both are coil tapped to run single bobbin side by side.
When pulled all tones are very useful and super clean and bell like.
All 4 knobs push pull in the Jimmy Page configuration.
I used the Seymour Duncan newer version blueprint not the 50's one.
As a result one pull out of the 8 possibilities is mute
to configure them all in the other positions without it messing up/humming etc.
My goal was to build the most versatile"go to" guitar
for live or studio engagements. I wanted a "one guitar does it all"
and I think I got what I wanted. This guitar does it all.
Through a COSM amp this guitar really shows it's stuff,
from 12 string to Metal it is amazing.
Hardware is gold and Gotoh tailpiece with long Gibson anchors.
The bridge is a roller saddle type and locks in adjustments.
This is the arrangement I came to after trying various bridges and tailpieces.
There are some minor scratches and dings from play wear.
The wood bobbin custom pickups sound great.
They are rosewood and maple and custom wound.
The knobs, switch tip control covers, pickup rings and truss cover
are all made from wood and enhance the concept fantastically.
The metal hardware is gold to match the frets that are an alloy that looks gold.
I was trying more for tone than fancy so this is plain simple but attractive.
Plus it comes in at 1/2 the price if I did it with fancier inlays, wood etc.
Weight is around 8.8 lbs.
The guitar sounds and feels great.
A nice hard shell case is included and I just installed new strings.
I did this one right and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.
I think you will be too.
