Skylark solid electric guitar, model no. 857-2588, built in the Matsumoku factory in Japan 1981. Finished in teal blue this was the top of the line deluxe model of Skylark that featured an Ash wood body, 5-piece Maple/Walnut,  24-fret neck through body with Rosewood fretboard, pearl snowflake markers, and deluxe electronics which include dual DH-88 humbucking pickups (similar to SD Super Dist), master volume, master tone control, 6-way equalizer and 9v active boost switch, coil tap switches, and phase reversal switches, brass nut and saddle. Active pickups - boost switch turns the guitar into beast mode.  Great story on how these came about. Only sold one year, one run - 1981. The guitar is in great condition with a few minor dings and scratches on it, the worst being a small chip at the butt of the lower bout (pictured). It is all original except for the truss rod cover. It plays amazingly well, has insanely low action, no buzz, great fret life, and has a huge array of sounds with the tone selector, phase, and coil tap switches. It comes with a large, 1970's bass case.  Very rare to find. Matsumoku-built guitars are among the finest craftsmanship in 70's & 80's Japanese market. This guitar is a shredder, I am no. I've got my eye on a new toy, so she's up for sale. Gibson SG, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, Custom Guitar, MIJ, Matsumoku
