For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1998 Fender Custom Shop '58 Gene Baker Masterbuilt StratocasterSerial: GB141For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1998 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Stratocaster by Gene Baker.Gene Baker Masterbuilt guitars are fairly rare since Gene was only a Fender Masterbuilder for a short time before starting his own company!Finished in a 3-Tone Sunburst with a Birdseye Maple Neck and Fretboard. Custom Order from the Fender® Custom Shop! Made for a personal friend of Gene Baker and ordered by Music Machine; this was ordered as a 58 Stratocaster® with "a little something special" Gene Started with a super flame / birdseye maple neck, nicely rolled shoulders, and a Fatter C, Soft V Shape. He added vintage frets, 1 ply plastic and all the amazing features of regular Masterbuilt's. He then captured the finish of a personal 58 Stratocaster®, with just the right amount of yellow. This is a real deal sunburst, not some of the overly orange versions seen on other Fender®'s. Top that off with a Factory Custom Bridge Plate and you have it.9.5 inch radius, .860" at first fret and .980 at the 12th fret, 1.650 nut width, weighs in at 7 lbs 4 ounces. All information is written on the base of the neck as Fender Custom Shop did not use the Shop Traveler reports until 2003.Gene' Baker is one of the most highy skilled and innovative people in the Music industry today. Gene is a graduate of the Musicians Institute in 1986, he joined Gibson in 1991, and Fender as a Master Apprentice and then Master Builder from '93-'99.
