Description
Exact Year: 1959 Brand: Supro

This Supro Rhythm Master is a rare model that was offered between 1958 and 1960. It is in very good, original condition. It has the top-of-the-line Val-Trol control layout, which incorporates a hidden pickup in the bridge base along with the unmatched Valco Vista-tone single coils. Valco espoused a unique tone control philosophy, using the pickup selector switch as the main tone shaper. This guitar implements that philosophy flawlessly, going from thick and syrupy to raunchy and raw to jangly and percussive at the flip of a switch. Six mini-pots act as preset level and tone for each pickup. This guitar is set up and plays great up and down the neck. The small, vintage frets show virtually no wear. The action is low with plenty of room for adjustment at the bridge and at the neck heel(!). The neck profile is a slightly chunky "V" at the nut, tapering to a fuller "C" at the heel. The nut width is 1 11/16". The guitar presents very well but does have some knicks and dings as expected on a well-playing and well-loved 60-year-old instrument. Includes the original two-tone hardshell case.
