Hamer Newport hollowbody electric guitar in very good condition. Made in the USA, this Black Cherry Burst example sports a spruce top on a mahogany body with ivoriod binding. The vintage round neck and rosewood fretboard boasts excellent playability. The Hamer Phat Cat single coil pickups offer a happy marriage of hollowbody richness and P-90-flavored spank. The neck pickup is pleasantly round and dark, and jazz tones are easily obtained simply by rolling back either the tone or the volume control. The pickups sound balanced and the combination settings are a chimey, power-popper’s dream come true. The bridge is appropriately bright and toothy, and all settings deliver the slightly aggressive midrange that good P-90 pickups supply. The Bigsby tailpiece adds a shimmery vibrato that comes with no tuning problems for the Schaller Super Rotomatics. This guitar has been well cared for and never abused. Comes with a case (not original) as shown.
