1929 Ludwig Pioneer 'All-metal Separate Tension Drum' Vintage Brass Snare Drum

This is a great example of the 1929 era Ludwig 'Pioneer All-Metal Separate Tension Drum' shown in the catalogues of the time as No16 4"x14" This drum is pretty original having only had its heads and snare-wire changed, plus we believe four of the clips are not original. The shell is brass, The nickel plating on both the shell and hardware is in very good condition (with only a few marks as shown in the pictures) especially considering it's 90 years of service! The 1920's was a good period for the quality of Ludwig drums. Ludwig were building drums with real care and attention. This drum is a good example of the quality of drum from that era. A drum to own and play that will only ever gain in value. Currently fitted with a new Aquarian American Vintage batter, ambassador snare head, Starclassic snare wire and sounds fantastic!!
