** UPDATE i plugged it in and played it thru the wifes tube amp. the volume knob for the lead pick-up is dirty and will need a cleaning or replacment. it also tuned up nicely but the intonation is a little sharp on a few stings at the 12th fret. so it needs a set-up for sure ! i will get  chance to record a video of the sound of the guitar and upload it tomorrow. up for grabs is my 1972 gibson les paul deluxe. i have owned this guitar for the past 20 years, played it maybe 4 times and the rest of the time it has been in the case. this guitar is 44 years old . the guitar plays nice, but the finish is another story. before i acquired the guitar, it seems like someone tried to refinish it and did a terrible job. the red has bled into the bindings and the pickup covers. there is also some bubbling in the finish behind the bridge. the neck is in great condition and the frets show very little signs of wear. considering the wear on the other parts of the guitar. i think that the frets have been replaced. original pickups and tuners. the case is believed to be the original and is in decent shape with no major cracks or tears. there is serious wear on the back as seen in the pictures and that patch has worn down the finish to the wood. no pick guard at all. there are numerous scratches and dings on the guitar, the nut has a few dings and scratches as well, but hey, its 44 years old ! Please look at all of the pictures carefully and if you need to see more, just ask. the guitar dater project just returned these results for the serial number and according to all the messages that i received, it is def an early 70's guitar.Your guitar was made at the
