What makes this guitar special: A superb player with stunning good looks & dynamite tone! The double humbuckers sound absolutely amazing with warm, rich tone & great resonance. The cherry sunburst finish looks great & the guitar shows off lots of brilliant flame figuring throughout. Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!Cosmetic Condition: Typical, normal play wear for a 40 plus year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash & some finish wear/tarnished hardware. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a cool vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.Neck: Slender profile, 3-piece flame maple neck with multiple binding & tortoise side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone block inlays. Original frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl flower pot inlay & Gibson logo. At one time the guitar had Schaller tuners on it as evidenced by the additional screw holes, however, the original Klusons are back on. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.Body: Solid maple body with multiple binding & beautiful flame figuring. Trapeze tailpiece with L-5 S engraving. Six-saddle adjustable bridge & gold hardware. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 5 oz.Pickups: Original Gibson humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.43K ohms; Neck - 5.07K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '74 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. Case shows some wear & tear & has a slight musty odor, but it's not too bad & should hopefully air out over time.
