TELECASTER MULTI TUNING HIPSHOT TRILOGY GUITAR – SEYMOUR DUNCAN & BILL LAWRENCE PICKUPS This is one from my private collection, I love it but having a clear out so see my other auctions. I built this last year after seeing the Blues Band and Dave Kelly was using a red Stratocaster with a hipshot multi tuning bridge. At the interval I talked to him about it and how well it stayed in tune. That evening I ordered a Hipshot bridge and this is the result. I just haven’t used it enough although it’s one of the best guitars in my collection. I will listen to most offers including ‘trade ins’ so don’t be afraid to ask *andy@carfaxguitars.co.uk* BODY - The body is alder and weighed a very light 2kg before assembly. To go with the bluesman slide guitar feel I wanted I wanted to give it a relic finish. I used gun stock stain and oil followed by linseed oil which was then sanded back for a slightly beaten up finish. The scratch plate and control plate are made from Purpleheart wood. It’s a very light and resonant body and really looks amazing, pictures just don’t do it justice. It’s nowhere near as red as in the picture. All hardware is black.NECK - Neck is a quality honey gloss vintage affair with very dark rosewood fingerboard. The neck is on the thin side and really easy to play, especially after I levelled the frets and set it up. I have splashed the cash with Planet Wave tuners which are locking and also automatically cut the strings. String retainers are lubricated graph tech models. Tuning will not be a problem with this. I have fitted a Fender replica decal although please note this is NOT A REAL FENDER! PICKUPS - I have not skimped with the pickups. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Broadcaster and sounds lovely and vintage, very twangy. The neck is a Bill Lawrence T1 Black Label. To me, this is a perfect combination.HIPSHOT - If you’re a slide player or like alternative tunings, you’ll know what these are all about. You can set three tunings per string and it really works. You are more than welcome to try the guitar out before you bid if you can get to Peterborough area. I guarantee first person to see it in the flesh will fall in love, the pics do not do it justice. Any questions, please ask. I am always interested in potential trade-in’s for guitar gear, so please contact me well before the end of the auction if you have something to offer. I am generally interested in most Fender valve amp’s and old guitars in need of a little TLC. Carfax Guitars specialise in taking old guitars and turning them into really great playing and sounding instruments. We firmly believe that guitars should be played, not hung on the wall like deer heads. We aim to preserve the look of the guitars we renovate, but our primary goal is to build a working instrument so if the frets are awful, we’ll refret / if the tuners don’t stay in tune, we’ll replace / if there’s no paint left, we’ll refinish. Those people that are interested in vintage value will probably be cringing but we strongly believe that the REAL asset in a guitar is how well it’s going to play and sound – not how much the re-sale value will appreciate. We use old guitars as a starting position because the firm foundations are always there…..if a guitar has lasted 40 years with a straight neck then we can be sure that it’s going to play well and also will still be playing well in another 40 years. We also do not believe in tonal snobbery – some of the best acoustic guitars from the ‘60’s were made by Eko with laminated tops and bolt on necks. With a little love and attention these Italian beasts can be made to sound almost as good as a Martin at a fraction of the cost. Same can be said for many early Japanese guitars from the 1960’s although much work is often required to bring out the inner quality of the beast. Read this small print: I will only ship on cleared funds due to being ripped off in the past. This is not a reflection on you and I do not think less of you – it is just a precaution. I may be able to accept payments in other currencies but these may incur bank charges and these charges will have to be passed back to you so bear this in mind when bidding. I accept Pound Sterling payments only. For any other payment methods – please contact me for details before making payment. If quoted, postage & packing price is for UK mainland only. Postage (unless stated otherwise) is not sent with insurance and due to the pressures of life I can’t always guarantee to post on the day of payment although I will always try to do this. If you have specific postal requirements you must let me know beforehand and I’ll confirm whether possible. If you have zero or negative feedback or are bidding outside of the UK please contact me before bidding. I reserve the right to refuse offers from these people if no contact is made. My descriptions are always honest. Descriptions by nature are a mix of subjective opinion and objective fact. If you have any doubts about a description then mail me before bidding. I will not refund if you did not understand the description and didn’t bother to ask me any questions. My auctions are usually open for 10 days, which is plenty of time to ask questions. I’m a genuine guy – read my feedback. This small print is purely to avoid any complications further down the road. Ebay is fun so enjoy your bids and GOOD LUCK.
