Rare 1986 Yamaha SG500T in used but very good condition with its original case. Considering it's 30 years old and has been a working guitar, it's in remarkably good condition. The body has some isolated minor dings and the corners of the headstock are chipped but it's really very good. It's fantastic to play as Yamaha guitars typically are. The neck is great, the action is great and the alnico pickups pull off the trick of being powerful yet dynamic and toneful. You can roll off the volume to clean up the tone then wind it back up to scream. Pinch harmonics jump out of this guitar but it's just as suited to subtle on-the-edge-of-break-up blues. The Schaller Floyd Rose works brilliantly. The sustain is excellent - unexpectedly so considering it's a Floyd-equipped guitar. This was made using Yamaha Japan components and assembled in the highly regarded Taiwan factory that made the MSG guitars so the quality of the materials and construction is very high. The serial number dates it to 3rd December 1986.
