The Blue Book Says:AMERICAN VINTAGE ’62 JAGUAR (U.S. MFG., NO. 010-0900)
– alder contoured body with offset waist based on the 1962 Jaguar, maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, vintage style tuners, vintage style floating tremolo with tremolo lock button, brown shell or aged white/black/white pickguard, two US Jaguar Special Design single-coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) on lower metal plate, two roller controls and one three-way switch on upper bass metal plate, three preset slide switches on upper treble metal plate, chrome hardware, available in 3-Color Sunburst, Black, Candy Apple Red (1999-2000), Dakota Red (2001 only), Fiesta Red (1999-2000), Ice Blue Metallic (2001-09), Inca Silver (2001-disc.), Olympic White, Ocean Turquoise (2002-07), Sherwood Metallic (1999-2000), or Surf Green (2002-07) finish, 24 in. scale, case included, mfg. 1999-2012.I Say:A USA made Jaguar, made at the Corona plant. As confirmed by the Serial No on the neck plate. This has been used professionally and has toured the world! The bridge has been changed for a heavier duty roller bridge, and has the original piece in the case pocket. The Relic process was done by a luthier in Manchester, this included a overspray in Fender Custom Shop’s 1960’s creamy white lacquer. In the relic-ing process the actual date of manufacture on the neck and body has been obscured, however the CTS potentiometers are from 2004/5.The Jaguar wiring is a mystical creature, but basically think of it as:A lead/rhythm selector switch on the upper bout.Switched UP this selects the Rhythm circuit roller controls on the upper bout. The foremost of these is the volume, the rearmost is tone.Switched DOWN it selects the Lead Circuit, using the more traditional control knobs on the lower bass bout, volume and tone as normal.The three switches on the lower bout – the foremost one is the neck pickup on/off switch, the middle turns the bridge pickup on/off. The rearmost one modifies the lead tone – it sounds a little like a phase reversal.The rear of the neck has been stripped / relic-ed, I’ve oiled this and it feels incredibly smooth to play. I have been very surprised by the tone of the pickups – it’s much fuller than the sound I’ve heard from Strats, and can sound remarkably bluesy.In short a great playing, superb sounding instrument, but the relic-ed look is a bit of a “Marmite point” – all electronics are crackle free and fully functional.The Original Fender Hard Case is in good condition, with one of the clasps a little damaged – it’s fully functional but a little fiddly. The neck pocket has the original paperwork, bridge, mute and bridge cover, and the Allen keys for adjusting the bridge.I accept Paypal (preferred), personal cheque , cash on collection and direct bank transfer. Payment must be arranged within 3 days of the agreement to purchase, otherwise the item will be relisted and negative feedback will be left free of charge. Money must clear into my account prior to collection/despatch. The items will be despatched via Royal Mail for small items and UPS for lrger items, insured where appropriate, usually within 24 hours of receipt of funds. I'm doing this to raise money to support AIDS orphans in Africa, and 10% of any money I make automatically goes to these children (see for more information).
