1956 Gibson ES-140 ¾  - Near Mint Condition For sale is my 1956 Gibson ES-140 ¾ size guitar in sunburst finish. The serial number is V497326 and can be seen thru the lower f hole.  The guitar had virtually no playing time on it as evidenced by the pristine condition of this 60 year old guitar.  I would consider this guitar near mint.  Please examine the many photographs below this description and decide for yourself. The neck is straight, the action is low and it plays great.   Everything on the guitar is original. The body and neck are in great condition with no significant dings or scratches. The binding has turned a beautiful patina yellow. There is some slight lacquer checking in the finish that is to be expected with a 60 year old instrument. I have had this guitar in my collection for 15 years. It has always been treated kindly and it has never been out of my house. The frets are in great shape and it is a very easy playing guitar.  This ¾ size neck is a very easy player and with the neck body joint at the twelfth fret and the cutaway you have access to the higher frets. The ES-140 is the “baby brother” version of the ES-175. The electronics are all original and produced a warm sweet tone from its P90 pickup.  The guitar comes with a new hard-shell TKL case that fits it like a glove. I will ship the guitar by UPS fully insured for the buy it now price and a signature will be required for delivery.
