Trust is built with DIRECT contact between buyer and seller.Very nice RB-250 conversion neck for a tube and plate pot assembly. This arrived on a 1970s SAGA banjo that had been reworked to resemble an RB-250. It has the fiddle cut headstock, Crown pattern inlay and block Gibson style logo. This style was used by Gibson in 1969 when they transitioned from bowtie headstock to the fiddle cut headstock and in my opinion, this one actually looks BETTER than an original Gibson product of the era. The inlay quality is nicer and the headstock has more sharper corners. The neck itself is straight, ma.h-o-g. any construction, has a working truss rod and as old as the neck is, it appears unplayed. The frets have no wear and the fingerboard has no divots. Heel is professionally cut for a TUBE & PLATE flange. Also has a MASTERTONE block inlay. The plastic nut was removed and replaced with a BONE NUT that will need to be filed out for strings. I custom fit this nut to the banjo. Finish is near perfect and it really shows no sign of abuse or play. A $50 discount is possible, please inquire. A custom built neck in this style, finished, would easily cost $1k or more. Considering this one appears new, I think it's a comparative bargain. The MOST IMPORTANT aspect of building or restoring a banjo is the manner in which the neck fits to the pot assembly, the manner in which the flange fits to the rim and the manner in which the tonering fits to the rim. If any of these are less than professional, your banjo will not sound right and a good setup will be impossible. I would LOVE to help you get your banjo project done correctly and if you are buying your parts from me, I can offer to do your NECK FITTING, TONERING FITTING and FLANGE FITTING, FREE OF CHARGE or at minimal cost. Contact me for details. I love selling parts and will offer my time and expertise to you in order to sell more and thus buy more to offer the banjo community. Please be assured that I am an honest seller of parts, I will not, as some online sellers do, try to pass off inferior parts as the genuine item. I like to buy and sell mostly Gibson Banjo related items. Please refer to the BANJO HANGOUT where I am a member in good standing under the name Lou Bourbon. I will stand behind these parts and I will never send you something that is broken (unless advertised as such) nor will I pass off low quality work as anything but the truth.
