Here's a great playing and sounding GIbson SG Special from 1974.It's a one piece mahogany body with a three piece neck which accounts for its resonance and rigid neck.There's NO neck repairs (probably due to its volute) nor is there any heel repairs so common on old gibbos.5 of the tuners have been replaced for Schallers,the 6th one is the original kluson marked Gibson Deluxe.The bridge pickup has been changed to an unknown,braided cable humbucker.Sounds great and the route has been done well.(a common mod).The original cherry finish has faded to a nice brown (see photo with the scratch plate removed) not one of those horrid walnut ones!The chrome,string retained, bridge is stamped and therefore original. The tailpiece may be a later one,not sure.The impressed serial number is 399297 deeming this to be made in 1974.One pot dates '74,two are dated 1972-I can't make out the other. Strap buttons,back plate,scratch plate,knobs,nut,selector & tip,neck pickup,pots and wiring are all original to the guitar.Weight is 3kg.Comes in a non original hard case.Ignore the International Shipping Quote and tell me where you are in the world for the cheapest option.Email me (bluealnico@tesco.net) for any more photos needed.
