You have to pay attention to this one. It's a bit unusual. This is NOT an official RKS Ruby model. It does not have the birdseye maple headstock. It originally came with a black body and central cover. It also IS left-handed model, but I had an new nut carved and flipped it to right handed. At this point, you might ask why... and you may think I'm a nut. I have a number of RKS guitars and have bought and sold a few more over the years. I'm a huge fan. Huuuuuggge. But I could never get an authenticated Ruby model with matching serial number and certificate at a decent price. You could also say I'm cheap, but my wife wants me to retire soon so I watch my pennies. So when this left-hand model came up with the wooden body, the oval fingerboard inlays and the metal scroll on the headstock, and seeing as I'd bought a backup ruby body for the Ruby I didn't have... I thought hey, I can sorta have my ruby for the collection. Interestingly enough, the recessed volume and tone above the body do not get in the way and are just as easy to move with your thumb as with your pinky on a traditional guitar. Likewise the recessed pickup lever doesn't get in the way below and is in fact accessible with your pinky. So it worked, and I thought, there, now I have my Ruby. One of the ideas behind the RKS design was modularity, so I feel slightly vindicated swapping bodies, which a lot of folks do. You can still find bodies floating around on ebay and craigslist. Folks buy em and do custom paint jobs. And then six months later I found a Ruby with certificate at an awesome price. Go figure. All that said, if you want it turned back into a lefty, I can have my luthier do that for you. He's one of the best in the Northeast. Or take it to your guy or gal.You also get the original black body parts and the case in the pictures. This RKS like most has Lace Sensor humbucker pickups that give a lot of tonal range and can support a rich clean sound or get really raunchy when you push your amp or connect the pedals. The condition is very good. There are some dings here and there. The Ruby body is essentially new. The black body had a ding on one of the corners. There are some dings along the back on the wood strip that runs between the new body parts. The fretboard feels almost fresh and the frets have very little wear. The D&A stand is not included, but you should check em' out. Best music stand I've ever owned. Folded they fit in a cargo pants or jacket pocket. Ravi Sawhney, the designer of the RKS guitar also designed D&A stands (and the Line 6 Amiplifi as well.)RKS Guitars was founded by Ravi and Dave Mason of Traffic. Mason worked closely on the evolution of the design and wasn't a passive rock name. RKS Guitars was even the subject of a Harvard Business Review case study.
