2014 Gibson Memphis ES-345 Reissue VOS Cherry Incredible sounding and playing guitar. In excellent shape with only very minor signs of use. Even though this guitar has been used at many gigs I take very good care of my guitars and it shows. Almost no fret wear and only the slightest normal play wear for a 2 year old guitar. Guitar comes in the VOS Cherry finish with the aged gold parts. The ES-345 is basically an ES-335 with gold parts, parallelogram inlays and the varitone switch. In position 1 on the varitone it is basically a 335. The 5 other positions provide interesting tonal variations and these new varitones are far more useful than their 70's counterparts. This is a mono guitar so you have none of the issues associated with stereo guitars (many early 345's were stereo).The guitar as a very nice medium "C" shaped neck, it is not a slim/thin neck but it also isn't a baseball bat. To me, the shape is very easy to play but substantial and it was recently expertly setup and plays amazing.The tone on these guitars is outstanding. They have the super popular MHS pickups that are slightly underwound I believe on the ES guitars. They give a very nice old-school PAF tone that sounds round, woody and clear. GREAT pickups!
