2004 Fireglo Rickenbacker 660/12 guitar.BEST for that classic Byrds, Beatles, Petty, 60's jangle-sound and it's no wonder, songs seem to write themselves with these guitarsAlready setup. The color is closest as shown in picture 2. Very nice coloring. There are a few skinny 'depression dents' in the top (only seen if looking for them and at certain angles) so it is not in 'perfect unplayed condition'. It has been played probably because this one has a VERY nice sound, lively bass string response, not too 'compressed' sounding and that iconic shimmer that you literally can't get with any other electric twelve string guitar!Run it through a Janglebox compressor and you get THAT sound. (every 12-string Rickenbacker owner should have one!)The Model 660/12 features a charactered Maple cutaway body based on an innovative design from the 1950's. A Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated beautifully with triangular pearloid inlay markers, while the maple double bound neck and body are solid through and through. Rickenbacker's trademark "checkered" black and white binding set off the body, while white binding graces the neck. The 660/12 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the vintage reissue series, complete with Rickenbacker's own Vintage Single Coil Toaster Top pickups. These deluxe features, coupled with over 60 years of hand-crafted excellence, encapsulate the essence of the "Rickenbacker Mystique." This 2010 FireGlo Rickenbacker 660/12 is in new/unplayed condition. It's the same guitar featured on the cover of Tom Petty's "Damn the Torpedos" album. It comes with it’s original case.
