Description
Brand: Gibson No. of Strings: 6 string

Gibson moved all of its production to Nashville in September of 1985, making this one of the last 335's to be built in the Kalamazoo Factory on January 29th, 1985 (Production number 2). Many people share the Belief that theses guitars made in the Kalamazoo factory were far superior in build Quality. They were more refined. Every little plate, every little brace, every little piece of material in the guitar is sanded just a tiny bit thinner, just a tiny bit smoother, and that’s the difference. And I contend that people can hear this. That’s why they sound so great.I’ve had a ton of ES-335’s over the years but the 80s Dot reissues are among my favorites. A very nice looking and sounding guitar. Very vibey. 1982 was the 1st full year for the Dot reissue. Gibson was looking to get back to basics and return to the original 335 formula. Fast forward 34 years  and these guitars have become super popular. The body is laminated maple with a maple sustain block. The 1 piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Original Shaw era Patent Number humbuckers dish out big tone. Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Stopbar tailpiece and Tuneomatic bridge round out the hardware. The finish is a gorgeous Cherry Red. The Binding has also aged to a nice yellow Hue. This guitar has a really nice Vintage vibe. A great looking guitar! This ES-335 would make a great addition to most any gear arsenal. Plays extremely well. Medium neck carve (i.e. it ain’t fat) with good action. The pickups sound great with nice warmth and articulation. Everything works as it should. Condition wise, this one is very clean for a 32 year old guitar. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches, slight play-wear, and some hardware corrosion. Very nice. Comes in what i believe to be the original Gibson hard-shell case with one busted latch ( I am in the process of getting this authenticated by Gibson ). Also includes Gibson Warranty and inspection card.I’ve been watching the market in recent years on early reissue guitars and seeing some huge growth. Early 80s Fullerton built Fenders and 80s Gibson ES-335 Dots have seen huge increases in price over the past few years. Many players have discovered that these 80s guitars have the vibe you can't get in a new instrument.  With a new Dot reissue costing nearly £3K, these 80s reissues are a great value too.Serial Number: 80295502Time of manufacture: January 29th, 1985Place of manufacture: Kalamazoo, USANeck Shape: 60's Mid shape Neck profileFingerboard: RosewoodFret Condition: Minor Fret WearWeight: 7.6 PoundsAction: Professionally set-up Low actionOverall Condition: "Excellent" Colour: Cherry RedOriginality: 100% OriginalDings, Scratches, other: It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches, slight play-wear, and some hardware corrosion.. - Please See Pictures Below.
