You are viewing a beautiful playing and sounding Fender Japan Telecaster, a B+5 Digits serial number on the neck plate Made in Japan in the 1990s I think (B+6 digits is 1985-86 but this was made more recently I feel), when Fender’s factory there were making some of the best Fender Telecasters ever. This guitar is one of those guitars which has quality Japanese craft in spades, with a beautiful Sen Ash body in transparent Vintage (Spearmint) Cream, and an Ebony fret board with nicely dressed jumbo frets atop one of the most beautiful Quilted Maple necks I have ever seen or played. Even the pick guard is customised and while I think it is plastic, it is slightly arched, and the pattern doesn’t repeat anywhere, so it just could be real Tortoiseshell, although I don’t claim that it is. The pickups match a Fender Custom Pickup in the Bridge with a Dimarzio Twang King in the neck position (same as on the Richie Kotzen Fender Signature Telecaster). The Fender bridge pickup is smooth as, not harsh, while the neck pickup is just outstanding, the best I have heard on any of my Teles. When I bought this guitar a while back, the bridge pickup was mis-wired and really honky, the Orange drop cap was loose, the switch was near rooted, and the metallic shielding paint in the input socket was shorting and buzzing in certain conditions. So I paid Bronwyn Watkins, a young genius Luthier at Big Music, $225 to rewire, put in a new Fender switch, remove shorting paint and all that, then to adjust the neck and do a new set-up on the customised (with 6 individual brass saddles for the best intonation and response) Lawrence bridge, so the guitar now sounds perfect with no evident single coil hum. The guitar is in very good condition for its age, with nicks and wear on the body, so it is not near mint, but has almost no wear on the jumbo frets on the Ebony board. The photos tell the story of its age with some minor corrosion on the metal and tiny scratches on the body which all adds to its character. In the BRAND-NEW $189 SKB HARD CASE I have also included a new set of D’Addario 10-46 strings to go with the near new set on the guitar, and a set of Fender strap locks (off my Fender Telecaster Deluxe which I am keeping, as it is a $3,999 RRP guitar, and I wanted to keep one Tele in my reduced collection) Made in Germany by Schaller for Fender. I will freight this registered, trackable and fully insured anywhere in Australia for only $30, or with no additional cost arrange pickup in or personally deliver to many Sydney suburbs (I now live in Brooklyn, North of Sydney, in case you live nearer to Brooklyn than Sydney). Check out my 100% positive feedback and 411 Turquoise stars, so you know I only sell the very best gear you can buy for the price! Good luck with your bidding!
