Cerveny ACB691 Kaiser CC Tuba – 4 rotor valves (used instrument) Product DescriptionThis is a used Cerveny ACB691 tuba in CC (serial number: 4042). The tuba has four rotor valves and will be supplied in the black gig-bag shown in the pictures. One of our brass technicians has serviced the instrument as necessary and it is in very good mechanical order. You can read about the cosmetic condition below. As is often the case with the majority of the items that we list on Ebay, the ‘make an offer’ option is provided to open the possibility of price negotiation. Please feel welcome to contact us on the telephone numbers at the foot of the listing or send an Ebay message.  SpecificationsKey: C One water-key 4 rotor valves Finish: Lacquer   A mouthpiece is not included but we would be happy to include one from our stock, or indeed any other brass accessories from our stock with the shipment. Please just contact us prior to finalising payment to check availability etc.The instrument is supplied in the unbranded gig-bag shown. The bag has external storage pockets. We imagine it would prove quite difficult to source a hard case that would fit this model of tuba, so a gig-bag is probably the next best option.   ConditionThe instrument has been thoroughly checked over and serviced as required by our experienced brass technicians. The instrument is in good mechanical order and plays reasonably well. I will include a summary of the work carried out during the service below:·         De-dent bell flare as best as possible (still some under garland)·         De-dent bell stem, bottom bow and 1st branch without dismantling·         Remove all rotors and linkages·         Lap-in all rotors·         Clean rotors and casings and re-oil both·         Adjust and grease linkage screws·         Oil levers, screw and springs·         Supply and fit new buffers to all rotors and cut to regulate·         Clean and grease slides and de-dent bows (as best as possible)·         Supply and fit waterkey pads and adjust spring tension·         Chemically clean body, slides, rotors and polish. The total value of this work was £280 and we are pleased with the result. That said, some minor cosmetic flaws do remain. There are many faint scratches to the body of the instrument, particularly concentrated on the bottom bow. Evidence remains from where dents have been removed but the job has been done very effectively. Some minor dings remain in the slide bows and also on the bottom bow, but nothing major and certainly nothing that will affect the blowing capabilities of the instrument. The finger battles are slightly marked- presumably a natural corrosion from the skin of the previous player, but again nothing bad or uncomfortable. The gigbag is in good working order with little in the way of scuff marks. The zips function well.    Returns/WarrantyIf on initial inspection you are disappointed in any way, you may return it and receive a full refund. It was founded by Trevor Austin (father of Paul) who was previously a euphonium player in the Horse Guards (and played on horseback at the Queen’s Coronation). Following long service in the Salvation Army as a player and conductor, his reputation led to requests to supply instruments around the UK and overseas. Rosehill is now led by Trevor’s son Paul, who was awarded a Government contract in 1999, and since that time Rosehill has been the supplier of musical instruments to Her Majesty’s Military bands. We also service and repair brass band and military band instruments at our workshops in Beaconsfield, many of which are then supplied overseas.
