Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special Candy Apple Red, improved for today The Jaguar guitar is one of Fender's most famous designs. The quirky offset body is now nearly as iconic as the Strat! However the cool looks of the Jaguar used to come at a price. Jaguars and Jazzmasters for that matter had plenty of design features that weren't as user friendly as modern electric guitars. The main gripe of Jaguar players was the old style bridge. The strings would easily move out of position and the grub screws holding everything in place had a mind of their own! Thankfully the Fender Classic Player Jaguar does away with the fiddly old bridge and puts in its place a rock solid Adjusto-Matic. The tremolo plate is also moved towards the bridge increasing the string break angle for improved sustain and stability. It's a great improvement and something you won't need to worry about. Another nice touch is the inclusion of a screw in tremolo Arm. The vintage style arms had nothing top hold them in place! Hotter Jag pickups with great switching options Sound wise the Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special includes hotter pickups and a tone cut switch that cuts the low end from your signal. This gives the Classic Player Jaguar loads of different tones on tap. The separate Rhythm and Lead circuits lets you set up different volume and tone settings and switch between them. There is also an On/Off slide switch for each pickup allowing you to have either pickup active, both together or none at all. Fender really have improved the Jaguar guitars design with this model. A more comfortable 9.5" fingerboard radius and a neck pocket with increased back-angle helps the set-up and playability.
