This auction is for a Washburn by Lyon & Healy 1927 Shrine Koa Ukulele. Model #5335, this is a soprano sized uke made from Koa wood, with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It features green binding on the top and back, and around the soundhole, as well as a green nut, saddle, heel cap, and diamond on the peghead. It has the tiniest bridge pins I’ve ever seen. Original black tuners, and a small oval plate behind the peghead that reads “Washburn LYON & HEALY CHICAGO, U.S.A.” below the serial number, 9973. There are assorted light dings and scratches distributed over the instrument, and a hairline crack on the bass side of the top. There are some other micro cracks or finish cracks so subtle as to be almost invisible, but I want to disclose their existence. I’d rate the condition VG+ to EXC-.This is a rare instrument, with superb playability and sound. One of the nicest ukes I’ve ever played. Sound is wide open and loud. No original case, It will ship in an inexpensive tenor case of ordinary shape. This is an amazing completely original ukulele! Please note my 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. Please consult the photos closely, and please feel free to ask questions before bidding! Good Luck, Happy Bidding!
