Peavey HP Special CT, USA, 2009 Carved Top, Wolfgang, Axis Flame maple top, in striking Cherry Sunburst finish. This guitar was Peavey’s successor to the Wolfgang once Peavey- EVH split came about in the early 2000’s. Peavey wanted to make it better than the Wolfgang so they offered more options. It appealed to the Wolfgang fans but is not a Wolfgang! This guitar was made in the Peavey custom shop; this is the more expensive carved top. A really nice slab of flame maple which adds to the tone. It sports a set of Peavey brand, hand wound pickups from the Peavey custom shop. The bridge pick up has some edge to it and the neck has a nice throaty sound. They are well matched to the Floyd rose. The volume and tone both are push-pull which enables single coil sounds out of pickups. You can get a wonderful mix of tones with the three way toggle switch. The Floyd rose licensed bridge has screw in vibrato arm which allows you to have it set loose or tight and firm as you wish. The tremolo has a clever design which allows it to be blocked or can be set to float. D-Tuna is also fitted. The neck is birdseye maple, with graphite reinforcement. It is lightly oiled and has a nice comfortable shape which makes it very easy to play and move across the fretboard. This guitar is PERFECT in every way. Clean, tidy and has an AWESOME action!
