1979 Gibson The Paul guitar.  These are made of walnut with an ebony fretboard.  Here's the story on this baby:  This started life looking a lot like it does today.  Some time in the past, some knucklehead painted the guitar white and the headstock black.  It also had an awful looking hand painted Gibson logo.  The next owner stripped the white paint off but left the headstock like it was.  Also a previous owner (probably the knucklehead) put in all new pots and switch (and a terrible solder job).  Probably during the painting and stripping process, the neck developed a bit of twist.  My friend played it and we did not detect any buzzing or playability issues.  It is set up with a bit of neck relief and nice comfortable action.  Truss rod works.  I reworked the headstock face with a stenciled Gibson logo.  It was all done with nitro and then aged (complete with finish checking) to look appropriate.  It looks good.  The whole guitar looks great.  The pickup and electronics cavities still have the old white in them (might be great candidates for shielding paint).  Has an Entwistle Dark Star humbucker in the neck and a Wilkinson in the bridge.  The Entwistle sounds great clean and the Wilkinson sounds good with OD.  Both pickups work great.  Electronics have been tested and work.  Pots, switch and/or jack might have slight scratchiness from storage.  Some scuffs and scratches but not bad.  Has a nice vintage look.  Light to medium fret wear.  Tuners, strap buttons and truss rod cover are not original.  Guitar weighs 8 pounds, 7.6 ounces.  No cracks or breaks.  The walnut body and neck will sustain for days.  A cool guitar with an adventurous history.  Includes hard case shown in 1st photo.  Photos are part of the description so please view them carefully.  Please ask any questions that you need to.    Shipping is for lower 48.  Contact me for availability and shipping rates before you bid, offer or buy if you live elsewhere.
