1968 Fender Telecaster with a refinished body that looks like the rosewood bodies from 1969. You can see the wood grain very nicely through the finish. The tuners are Schallers and do an excellent job of staying in tune. The guitar can sit for a few days and still be in tune. The rest of the hardware appear to be original and the electronics also appear to be original. I took pictures for potential buyers to be the judge. I believe the original electronics were removed to install Schector bridge pickup and some other brand of pots/knobs/control switch that were push / pull. But then the originals were put back on and the Schector stuff removed and have been sold. I'm not sure about the frets, if they are original or replaced. The nut appears to be too white to be original. No crack or break repairs with this guitar. Someone took good care of this. The guitar is very resonant with great sustain. If you use reverb, you won't need to add much more since it seems to come naturally with a little of it's own.I took a close up picture to show the maple cap of the fretboard. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand the Telecasters of this period usually came with a rosewood fretboard. But someone could custom order theirs with a maple fretboard and a slice of maple would be cut and glued to the neck. Therefore, these do not have the "skunk stripe" on the back of the neck the other rosewood fretboard Telecasters have for the trussrod traditional installation. The pots date to 1966 because Fender bought a whole bunch of them in 1966 for a very good price and the supply of them lasted way past the 1966 guitar inventory. If you have been looking for a 1969 Rosewood Telecaster but don't want to pay the $10k plus price, consider this as a less expensive alternative. It comes with the original hardshell case. The case is in very good condition considering the age. All the latches work perfectly and there is NO foul odor. The buy it now price will include free shipping and insurance. Just wait for me to send you an invoice so I can zero out the shipping cost. It will be packed very well for transport. This is for sale locally and will be removed if finalized here.Strings will not be on the guitar when it ships but new strings will be included separately.
