This is a quite rare York Master Model Trumpet that has been recently refinished with a brushed lacquer finish with the bell interior polished. Plays big with a cool vintagey sound. This horn is a rare production, appears to be a 1942 production based on serial research. It was one of York's high end quality model of the day and it plays really nice. The bell is made of red brass like most York's of the time and has an all yellow brass body. The bell features a "Kranz" tone ring with an engraved pattern on it which does give the sound more edge. The tone ring was polished along with the other nickle silver parts and the bell interior as well. The horn is large bore and is .468 when I measured the 2nd valve slide with digital calippers. Also featured on the trumpet is a cool tuning mechanism on the tuning slide which can help the horn memorize it's primary tuning position so when you remove your mute you can push back to the spot the tuning mechansim locked onto.My tech replaced the felts, corks and springs and did a chem flush on the horn. Slides should move and compression is ok but needs heavier oil like Hetmans #3 classic oil and that works well. there is one wide non deep ding on the bell crook pictured above. Should be easy to remove with a decent tech and there is a baby ping on the bell flare which is pretty small but aside from that I don't see anymore. No redrot. Selling the trumper becuase I have way too many large bores in my collection and hopefully someone can take advantage of a classic York trumpet. The trumpet includes an old Bach 7C and a rare York AL-TRUE 4M mouthpiece (which I bought seperately). Both mouthpieces are in great condition for age, shanks are round and smooth.Does not include a case and is safer without one. If you need one let me know and you should pay 5 bucks extra for it.
