I'm offering up my 1973 Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop. She is in terrific condition. The previous owner was a collector (not much of a player) and so she sat in a case for years and years. You would be very hard pressed to find another early '70's Les Paul in this condition.
As you can see in the photos I've taken very good care of my Deluxe and have never abused her. The only reason I'm selling is because I have another guitar with P90's and don't really need two.
My Deluxe has the very rare darkback finish - not the milky brown that you normally see. Take a close-up look at the photos. You'll see just how clean she is. There are no cracks, no breaks, no stressed joints, none of the finish checking you find on most guitars of this era. The gold top finish is original and no repairs have been made to her. The only noticeable mar is a very very small nick (about the size of a small piece of rice) on the upper bout. In the photos you can see a US Quarter beside the nick so that you can gauge the size. The frets are in great condition. The neck is butter smooth and straight as an arrow. Action is low. Original pots move as they should with no static. Serial number is: 118727 The only non-original items on the guitar are the pickups. The previous owner removed the mini-humbuckers and installed two Seymour Duncan P90s. The decal on the pickups reads "1N J". The Duncan P90s give the guitar a lot of versatility and are much quieter than other P90s I've owned in the past. You can get a creamy smooth tone by rolling off the volumes or a nasty, biting snarl if you turn the volume up to 10. The difference in tone between the neck and bridge pickups is remarkable, as well. My bathroom scale says that she weighs 9.8 pounds. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I'd say that weight is pretty close to actual. She comes with a Gibson Les Paul case with pink-ish interior. Please feel free to ask questions.
