Corneta New York Bach Mercedes del año 1941, n/s 58XX. Campana 31, tudel 112, calibre M 0,453” (11,50 mm). Mercedes era la gama media de la marca Vincent Bach durante más de cinco décadas, no eran instrumentos de estudiantes. Las principales diferencias eran los materiales – los Mercedes son de latón mientras los Stradivarius son de latón y níquel – y la imposibilidad de elegir diferentes calibres, acabados, campanas y tudeles. Los instrumentos Mercedes eran instrumentos de “talla única” y por ello eran más económicos de fabricar. La corneta está limpia, 100% funcional y lista para tocar. La compresión de los pistones es buena y funcionan perfectamente. Cada pistón y tapón superior lleva el número de serie del instrumento. Los bombas funcionan suavemente, la 2ª tiene un parche preventivo en el codo. La corneta está sin laca. El latón muestra un leve desgaste en las zonas habituales como es normal para un instrumento de 74 años y por no estar recubierto se mancha fácilmente. Sin estuche ni boquilla.

Each valve and top cap bears the serial number of the instrument. The slides work smoothly, the 2nd has a preventive patch. The cornet is in raw brass. The brass shows slight wear in the usual places which is nothing unusual for a 74-year-old instrument and since the brass is un-lacquered fingerprints show up easily. No case or mouthpiece.
