Gibson ES-175D 1959 Just in, this extremely rare and fabulous all original Gibson ES-175D in Natural color made in 1959! How can one not be impressed by the sheer beauty of this vintage original instrument when you take her out of the original hardshell case. This specimen is in excellent all original condition. It might be in for a refret in the forseable future, and the tuner knobs are worn (a telltale mark of an original instrument), but it's still an amazing sounding and playing guitar. Pure magic! The ES-175 debuted in 1949, as Gibson's mid-level laminate top alternative to the L-5 and as an electric version of the L-4. It was also the first Gibson electric to feature a stylish Florentine cutaway. In 1953, the ES-175D, a two-pickup model, was introduced. In the beginning of February 1957 these pickups were replaced by humbuckers. The ES-175 and ES-175D could be ordered in either sunburst finish or in natural finish (for an additional charge). As stated before, this instrument is in all original condition, from it's Kluson single line single ring tuners to the two PAF humbuckers and the tailpiece. It's not often you get the chance to obtain such a rare instrument!
