There are lacquer cracks and a few dings in the original red paintwork (see pics). The worst dinks are 1 by the strap button at the top and 1 underneath near the tone control where the paint is missing but nothing structural. The lacquer cracks by the neck cavity that I have tried to show in the pics do not effect the neck attaching to the body, I think because they originally put a thick almost plastic paint that was prone to cracking and crazing but this to me just adds to the 60s vibe.
At some point it looks like someone has tried to fit different pickups as in the cavity a bit of the wood between the 3 pickups has been removed (see pics). This isn't noticeable when the pickguard is on and the original 3 pickups and electrics are all working well. It also has the original tremolo bar which is unusual with these Watkins. It also very unusually comes with what looks like the original case which makes a rare guitar even rarer! The case is tatty but original and in useable condition. It's hard to date these uk made guitars but its a low serial number 6834, no headstock logo and early style pickups with a bolt on neck with no truss rod so probably early to mid 60's. It plays really well with a straight neck and single coil pickups similar to the 60's strats it was emulating.
